MY ELLE FEATURE

Good Afternoon Friends

I hope you are all doing well, I am over the moon beside one frustration, but it's nothing I can't handle. I am a magazine freak right so as I was paging through the July issue of Elle Magazine I saw a competition where you had to submit pictures where you styled yourself and 6 lucky readers would be offered the chance to be featured. I thought mmmh? and I couldn't stop thinking about it, because a part of me thought I would never make it because I have never won anything in my life and the other part thought what do I have to loose? plus I just had this nagging feeling that wouldn't go away and I listened to my heart and entered the competition the day before closing date. I think 3 weeks went by and I thought I didn't make and then one day I think it was the 28th of July as I was going to work I receive a call to say "we absolutely love your style and would love for you to be part of our photo shoot"!!!! I was so thrilled!! and I was like this is it! because things don't just happen nje. I took it as a sign from God because he knows my dreams and in my dream book I had written I want to be featured on Elle Magazine I just never thought it would come this soon. The shoot took place on the 17th of August and we were pampered.  There were so many clothes and we got confused as to what to choose (that's what happens when you've got too  much choice). I took lots of pictures that day because I was overly excitied ( who wouldn't be). Meeting Poppy whom we've met earlier on when we had the brief who is the Fashion Director for Elle, Jenna and 2 Elle interns that welcomed us in the morning when we arrived on set. This really was a dream come true for me. One down and a few more to go! It is possible.

FASHION FRIDAY: NONDUMISO MBUYAZI

Happy Friday

I hope you all had an awesome week like me:-). Our girl for  the day is Nondumiso Mbuyazi who is in her mid 20's ( a lady never tells her age) lol, who is a journalist by profession based in Durban but originally from Richards Bay. I know this sweet soul because we went to the same high school together in J.R.C when we were young and free!. Nondumiso is a soccer fanatic and she just had to share that she is also a die hard Orlando Pirates supporter.Nondumiso told me a bit about her personal style  and where her love for clothes began.

 HER STORY
"I have always loved clothes and I was recently browsing our family album looking at pictures of a younger me and I was always immaculately dressed, always well coordinated. This of course had a lot to do with my mother (my style icon) not wanting her only daughter and her eldest child looking frumpy and dishevelled in public. I must have been about 10 when my relationship with heels began and I haven't looked back since  than. I can vividly remember the shock of annoyance etched on my father's face when I demanded my first pair of heels. They were platform shoes made famous by the legendary British pop girl group the  Spice-girls. Since that fatefu;l day, I have never worn anything flat with my outfits. I'd describe my style as effortless, classy and playful at times.I buy clothes that complement my body and accentuate my best features. Fortunately for me I'm not brand conscious so I buy my clothes anywhere and everywhere. I'm what you call you'd call a girly girl. Comfort and affordability are the two most important things that I look at before I buy a clothing item."

Nondumiso has definitely had a relationship with clothes for a long time and loves looking pretty. Her love for heels is clear and you will see why below and you know what they say about heels right? "Give a woman a pair of heels and she will conquer the world". Looking beautiful does not need to cost a fortune you just need to have a sense of style.

TURBANS AND HEADWRAPS

Hello:-)

I know some people have mixed emotions about turbans and headwraps one such person that I know is my cousin Thenjiwe aka Tee she is so against them  LOL she says they remind her of gogo Lewisa from Sgudi S'nice. It is definitely not a trend for the faint hearted but it is a cool feminine way to look fabulously chic on a bad hair day or to simply turn it up by adding color to your ensemble. I love it and I now own 2 turbans. You can also use a square headscarf and make your own. Youtube has a lot of videos on how to tie a turban if you want to learn that's where I learnt do it.

Thank you for reading.
